DIY Stocking Steps

First, you'll need to make a pattern for your stocking. The best way to do this is to use a stocking you already have, or buy one of the dollar stockings that can be easy to find this time of year. Lay the stocking on a sheet of tissue paper and trace around it with a marker. Cut out the pattern and apply it to the felt with pins. Make this super simple diy stocking for Christmas. So, once your tissue paper is attached to the felt (double layered) cut around the tissue paper. I left ~1/2 inch margin to account for the seam allowance. This doesn't have to be perfectMake this super simple diy stocking for Christmas. Perfect for a quick project, or to stuff for your dog! #clausandpawsOnce your stocking is cut out, remove the tissue paper, but leave the pins! Sew around the edges of the stocking. I tried to keep the seam allowance around 3/8". Make sure you leave the top of the stocking open! Once your stocking is sewn, turn it right side out. Now it's time to prepare the fur. measure the opening of your stocking and round up to the next inch. We'll call this measurement "x". Cut a piece of fur 9 inches by (1/2)x at the fabric fold, or if you're cutting from a single piece of fur, 9 inches by x. Make this super simple diy stocking for Christmas. Perfect for a quick project, or to stuff for your dog! #clausandpawsI stuffed this diy stocking full of PEDIGREE® DENTASTIX® and PEDIGREE® MarroBone™ treats for my little pups this year. I love giving my dogs PEDIGREE® DENTASTIX® because it really helps their teeth stay cleaner between cleanings... and let's face it. Both dogs could take more training and the PEDIGREE® MarroBone™ will definitely come in handy for that. It's going to be such a treat to see the looks on their faces on Christmas morning![the_ad id="4340"]

Donate a DIY Stocking Full of PEDIGREE® Treats for Dogs in Need!

I think my heart swells this time of year. Much like The Grinch, I spend most of the year trying not to melt with every cause that's near and dear to my heart - if I did, I'd never get anything productive done - but at Christmas time all that changes. I tend to dwell on the things that I care about. One cause that I support is my local pet shelter. So, if you, or others on your list, are without a pooch this holiday season, consider making a donation. I feel so blessed to have two healthy dogs and I try to give them everything they need in order to be healthy and feel loved. Sadly, about four million dogs enter animal shelters each year. That means that four million dogs are without families that love and care for them. Shelters do their best, but in many cases they're short on money and staff. Most local pet shelters rely on donations. You can stuff this DIY stocking full of goodies like these and deliver it to your local shelter. The best way to spread Christmas cheer is to share it, right? Hop on over to your nearest Walmart and pick up a large bag of PEDIGREE® DENTASTIX® for good oral health and if you're gifting this stocking to a dog in need of some serious training (like me!), pick up some PEDIGREE® MarroBone™ training treats, too. Make this super simple diy stocking for Christmas.
