Homemade Taco Seasoning

If there's one thing Texans know how to do, it's cook... and we sure do love our spices.Naturally, we're pretty picky about our TexMex, too. My genius husband discovered the best home made taco seasoning on allrecipes.com by Bill Echols. He altered the recipe by adding some flour. It's easy, it's delicious, and it's cheaper than buying the store-bought taco seasoning that is DROWNING in sodium.taco seasoning recipeHere's what you need:

  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 tablespoon flour

You can double, triple, or duodecuple, like we did. Duodecuple is apparently the correct terminology to say you did something 12 times.Put in 3 tablespoons of taco seasoning with 2/3 cup of water per pound of meat, and enjoy!
