Pregnancy Chat: My Summer Baby Shower

At the beginning of June, I travelled to Texas where the best family and friends threw the most lovely baby shower in my honor. I'm so grateful to have had the time there and to be surrounded by so many women who love us. I really believe that support during pregnancy is something every woman should have and I felt completely loved and supported during my shower. opening gifts at my baby showerThe look for the shower was a simple greenery theme. I like simplistic, non-themed parties. Call me boring, or call me classy. I'm not sure which is appropriate, but it's what I liked and my hosts delivered with simple decorations, a beautiful cake, and lots of love and laughs. Beautiful simple baby shower decoration with onesies Gorgeous bare baby shower cake with rosemary garnish

(The cake my sister Jessica made was almost an exact replica of my mom's last birthday cake. Not only was it beautiful, but I loved feeling like I had a little piece of my mom there.)

Paige, who some of you may know as the author of An Uncomplicated Life Blog, is one of my best friends and she graciously hosted the shower at her beautiful home. She's also pregnant with twins, which makes her either insane or the real MVP by taking on a shower in the middle of summer in Texas. I'll let you be the judge of that. Two of my other sisters also served as hostesses, and I loved the touches they added to the day. Friends at a baby showerI felt so blessed to have old Texas friends drive several hours to attend the shower! We love living in Albuquerque, but we definitely miss our friends in Texas. Jaelan's Baby Shower Jaelan's baby showerI was so glad that a lot of family was able to attend, as well! S's grandma and all of his aunts were in attendance! Even some extended family came to love on us. Needless to say, our hearts are full and we know that we are very loved. Sister's picture: Jaelan's baby shower Jaelan's baby shower with grandma Jaelan's baby shower with aunt Kitty

I am so grateful for this baby shower experience. Sharing these moments with people who we love most is what life is all about and that's why I'm happy to share some snapshots of this day with you.
